Attorney Scott W. Sheen named new DeKalb Bar Association President
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Sept. 2016
The DeKalb County Bar Association recently announced the selection of Scott Sheen as the organization’s new president.
Based in St. Charles, Sheen has practiced law in Illinois since 1993 and is the founding member of Scott W. Sheen & Associates, Amato & Sheen, P.C. and Amato, Sheen, Majer & Piereth, PC. The firms handle criminal, traffic, family, personal injury and Workman’s Compensation cases in DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, DuPage, Will and Cook counties.
“I’ve been serving clients in DeKalb County for many years and have spent countless hours helping people. As a member of this legal community, it’s really an honor to lead the bar association in its efforts to support lawyers and the organization’s causes throughout the area,” Sheen said.
Sheen, whose ties to DeKalb County extend back to his law school days at Northern Illinois University, began his one-year term in August. In addition to guiding the bar’s overall direction, Sheen will also be involved in overseeing its various committees and charitable endeavors.
“I’m excited to work with fellow bar members to explore opportunities for training and other professional development in the coming year,” Sheen explained. “My goals are to pass a resolution through the bar membership and create a DeKalb County Bar Association website for the DeKalb County community.”
Sheen, who takes over for Chuck Rose, is also a member of bar associations in Kane, DuPage and Will counties. He previously served as an investigator for the DuPage Judicial Review Committee. Sheen also is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Federal Trial Bar and the Federal Appellate Trial Bar in the Northern District of Illinois.
A married father of three, Sheen is active in community sports with his children, coaching wrestling and also plays in local soccer leagues himself.
