Workers Compensation
If you are injured during the course of your employment, Illinois Law provides recovery. Illinois law provides compensation for workers who suffer injuries during their employment under the Illinois Worker’s Compensation Act. The statute of limitations is 3 years. Illinois law generally allows for different types of recovery generally (but not limited to):

1. Lost wages - temporary total disability, which is 66 2/3 percent of your gross wages up to a limit set by the Industrial Commission.

2. Payment for medical services connected to the injury. You have two doctors of your own choosing.

3. Permanent disability, which is limited and has ceilings set by law.

There are several other types of recovery for an injured person, such as vocational training, but these are the most common.

Attorney fees - Attorney fees are set by law and are limited to 20% of recovery. This area of the law is the most economical for the consumer to have representation.
